Some statistics from The European Forest-based Sector Research Forum 2005

Geographical distribution of delegates 358 delegates attended the conference, including representatives of European and national authorities; research funding bodies; forest owners; forest industries; allied industries and suppliers to the sector; and of course the research community at large, and the media.

The European Forest-based Sector Research Forum attracted delegates from 27 countries, (actually 28 if you include the representatives from the Canadian Embassy in Stockholm ;-)
Most of the delegates were of course from Sweden and Finland, (48 and 14 percent respectively). However, as the pie chart illustrates, the geographical spread of the delegates showed an impressive geographical spread, from north to south, and from east to west, including many new member states of the European Union.

The preferences given for attending the workshops on day two reveal that all parts of the sector were abundantly represented at the forum, realizing the goal that the Forum should give a great variety of stakeholders an opportunity to come together and to communicate with each other the innovative future of the European Forest-based Sector. Ongoing research projects were in focus, as well as the opportunities to launch new ones. Especially in view of the Forest-based Sector's Strategic Research Agenda that came a big step nearer completion during the workshops in this forum.
